Support services for animals AND people
Milk After Midnight is a neonatal support program that provides high-quality goat milk and emergency nutritional support for orphaned animals in need. Designed to help the smallest and most vulnerable lives survive the earliest days, the program supports rescuers, fosters and community members caring for fragile newborn kittens, puppies and small farm animals.
Inspired by the reality that rescue emergencies rarely happen during business hours, Milk After Midnight exists to bring nourishment, compassion and hope in the darkest time. Through the lifesaving resource of raw goat's milk, this program helps give orphaned babies a fighting chance at survival, comfort and a healthier future.
The Compass Rose
The Compass Rose is Apocalypse Farm and Sanctuary’s humane crisis consultation program, designed to help individuals, families, rescues, foster caregivers, and community partners navigate complex animal welfare situations with honesty, compassion, and practical guidance. Complex animal welfare cases rarely need quick answers—they need thoughtful guidance.
When an animal welfare case becomes overwhelming, the hardest part is often knowing where to begin. Whether facing behavioral concerns, owner hardship, neglect, cruelty, difficult placement decisions, or questions surrounding quality of life, we work collaboratively to understand the landscape before determining the next steps. Our consultations focus on observation, education, shared stewardship, and thoughtful planning rather than rushed conclusions.
We believe that not every situation has an easy answer—but every situation deserves an honest one.
Shelter in Place is Apocalypse Farm and Sanctuary’s crisis stabilization program, designed to help families, caregivers, and community members navigate difficult situations.
Through compassionate assessment, practical planning, behavioral guidance, education, and collaborative support, we work to widen the landscape wherever safe and humane pathways still exist.
Our goal is to strengthen the relationship between people and animals by reducing crisis, building confidence, and helping families make thoughtful decisions rooted in honesty rather than panic.
Not every animal in crisis needs to lose their home. Sometimes what they need most is support.
We understand that every situation is unique. Sometimes keeping an animal at home is not the most humane outcome. We offer environmental and behavioral consultation to assist in stabilizing within the physical home until another pathway becomes available.
Whatever the destination, no one should have to navigate it alone.
By slowing down, gathering information, and widening the landscape before making permanent decisions, we work to identify the most humane path forward—for both the animal and the people who love them.
We endeavor to steer humans away from chaos and establish hope through the journey.
The Last Lantern Project
The Last Lantern Project is a compassionate canine crisis and end-of-life counseling program created to support families facing difficult medical, behavioral and quality-of-life decisions for their dogs. Inspired by the idea of being a steady light in moments of fear, grief and uncertainty, the program provides judgement-free guidance, emotional support, crisis intervention resources and humane end-of-life counseling centered on dignity, compassion and the individual needs of every animal.
The Last Lantern Program recognizes that families in crisis are often navigating overwhelming emotional, financial, and behavioral challenges while trying to do what is best for their companion animal. Through formal behavioral evaluations and trauma-informed support, we help caregivers assess quality of life, understand available options, access community resources when possible, and approach humane euthanasia with peace when it becomes the kindest path forward.
